EVOLUTION isn’t just a book, it’s also an innovative, interactive play!
Over 18 years ago, Bruce and his first mentor spoke about changing how to truly engage children during Career Day. They wanted to provide something more memorable from the traditional Career Day: a shock and awe moment.
Without a name at first, their vision was simply to give children the opportunity to hear one of the best mentors in Trenton speak. It was only after Bruce created a play about his own life experiences the title EVOLUTION was born. On stage Bruce evolved from a boy, into the man, who would become a dynamic mentor for hundreds of students in Trenton and beyond.
As a kid I thought as a kid, but when I grew up…
Oftentimes as an adult, we tend to forget our childhood experiences and the people who steered us in the right direction. When I became an adult, I still remembered my own challenges as a kid, and I developed a program that educated, enriched and empowered young people through exposure.
A different kind of row home.
Like many in the inner city, at the age of three, Bruce’s world was turned upside down with the divorce of his parents. He went from living in a five bedroom home to public housing, “the projects”, with his mother and sister. However, it was a failed project. He didn’t become the stereotypical Black boy.
Keynote Speaker
Bruce has been a keynote speaker for large and small events. His inspirational stories will inspire and engage youth as well as adults to want to do and become “more!”
